Following the completion of the project's initial scoping phase, BLUMI-MED partners have continued developing the Integrated Local Urban Market Sustainability Assessment (IMSA) framework, one of the project's principal research outputs.
The IMSA framework is being designed to provide a comprehensive yet adaptable methodology for assessing the environmental, social, economic, and governance dimensions of local urban and peri-urban markets. Drawing on evidence gathered across the project's participating case studies, the framework will enable meaningful comparison while recognising the unique characteristics of each local market.
As development continues, the framework will support future field research, stakeholder engagement, and the identification of practical recommendations that enhance the sustainability, resilience, and long-term viability of local urban markets throughout the Mediterranean.
