BLUMI-MED Publishes First Comparative Scoping Analysis of Mediterranean Local Urban Markets

BLUMI-MED has published its first comparative scoping analysis, presenting an overview of 15 local urban and peri-urban market case studies across the Mediterranean. The report establishes a common understanding of market diversity and provides the foundation for the project's future research and sustainability assessment activities.

The BLUMI-MED consortium has reached an important project milestone with the publication of Deliverable D2.1 – Short Scoping Result Fact Sheet Covering Each Case Study Related to Key Dimensions of Local Markets and Stakeholders.

The report presents the results of the project's initial scoping analysis, bringing together findings from 15 local urban and peri-urban market case studies across Algeria, Croatia, France, Jordan, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, and Turkey. The assessment explores the diversity of Mediterranean markets by examining their governance structures, stakeholder groups, market characteristics, product systems, and sustainability challenges.

By providing a comparative overview of participating markets, the report establishes a shared knowledge base for all project partners and supports the next stages of research. The findings will help guide stakeholder engagement activities, comparative analyses, and the continued development of tools that strengthen sustainable local urban markets throughout the Mediterranean region.
